Body Shop Quality Control Record

Complete one record per RO. Add the checks required by this vehicle and repair. Record results, supporting evidence, corrections, and rechecks as the work happens.

RO number / inspection date
Year, make, model / VIN
Current repair scope / estimate version
OEM information source / revision or access date
Required technical reports / document references
Inspector name / role
Release reviewer / planned delivery date

Plan the required checks

  • Confirm the vehicle, current scope, and applicable OEM requirements.
  • Assign qualified staff and record checks needed before work is covered.
  • Identify required inspections, measurements, scans, calibrations, and sublet records separately.

Record the inspection

  • Compare completed work with the current repair plan and required criteria.
  • Record pass, fail, open, or not applicable with a reason for each required check.
  • Link each result to its photo, report, measurement, or signed record.
  • Check fit, finish, affected functions, and final condition using the applicable criteria.

Correct and recheck

  • Give every failure or missing record a corrective action and named owner.
  • Preserve the original finding and record the separate recheck result, reviewer, and date.
  • Keep unresolved safety or required technical checks on release hold.

Review for release

  • Confirm required checks are complete and every correction has a documented recheck.
  • Review all not-applicable explanations and verify supporting records identify this vehicle.
  • Complete the designated release review and prepare the delivery documentation.

Workflow record for trained staff, not technical repair instructions or a safety guarantee. Use current vehicle-specific OEM procedures and qualified judgment. A blank or skipped item is not a pass. A signoff does not replace required technical completion or evidence.
