Estimating is one part of the repair

What should stay in CCC ONE
Keep the work in CCC ONE that your shop already does well there.
That normally includes writing the original estimate, making estimate changes, writing supplements, and working within the insurer processes connected to the estimate. Your estimators should not have to learn a second estimating database or recreate line items in a management system.
Your closed estimate history can also remain in the estimating system. Moving to a connected shop management workflow does not require rebuilding years of completed repair orders. Start with the active work the shop needs to manage now, then keep new repairs connected going forward.

A practical workflow from estimate to closeout
Here is what the division of labor can look like in a real shop:
- The customer books or the front office creates the repair in AutoHound.
- The shop checks in the vehicle, records condition, and keeps signed documents with the RO.
- The estimator writes in CCC ONE as usual.
- The Windows connector picks up the supported estimate file and brings it into AutoHound for the RO match.

Questions to ask before choosing
Do not judge an integration from a logo row alone. Ask the vendor to show the handoff on a real-looking repair.
Does it preserve estimate versions?
A supplement should not overwrite the history that explains how the repair changed. The team should be able to distinguish the original estimate from later versions and see what is approved or still waiting.
Does the shop confirm the RO match?
Automatic delivery is useful, but an incorrect match is expensive. Look for a clear review step and duplicate guards.
Can production use the information without editing the estimate?
Technicians and managers need visibility into the work, not another place to rewrite estimating data.
What happens when the automatic connection is unavailable?
Ask whether the shop can import a supported EMS or XML file while a connection is being completed or restored.
Does the system run the whole repair?
An estimate viewer is not a shop management system. Ask to see scheduling, production, parts, communications, receivables, payments, closeout, and reporting working from the same RO.
Who controls the shared data?
Confirm how the shop turns sharing on and off, what data the application receives, and how the system protects customer information.
